Answer the following in a well-written paragraph of at least five sentences with a good topic sentence and a good conclusion.
Why can't the majority of teens be truthful with their parents all of the time? Do you think that most teens fear punishment or a loss of freedom for being totally transparent? In what situations? Do you believe that many teens don't believe that adults (especially their parents) respect the way that they feel? Is this belief legitimate (real) in a lot of cases? (In other words, do most adults lack respect for what teens think and feel?) Do many teens value their privacy or feel that they would be embarrassed if their parents knew everything about them? Are you in this situation or do you know a teen who is? Would most teens get along better or worse with their parents if they decided to become completely truthful?

ReplyDeleteMost teens are not truthful to their parents because they want to have fun. Also I do think that kids fear the loss of freedom. In most situations kids lie just because they don't like getting in trouble. I think parents do respect how kids feel but they still have to watch out for their kids. plus I think that adults think that kids aren't able to be mature. In conclusion Kids have their reasons to lie to their parents.

The times have changed, when our parents were teens the situations they got in to cant compare to ours.Teens lie to there parents because most teens fear there freedom and what there parents would think of them if they new the truth a 100 percent of the time. Parents most likely of the time over react to the things there teenagers do. Most teens lie to get out of trouble, the truth sometimes is hard to admit. If teens were completely truthful to there parents it could ruin there relationship, teenagers do some stupid things.Parents cant except the truth so why should the teenagers?

ReplyDeleteI think most teens are actually mainly truthful to their parents. I think that many teens do not fear punishment. Many teens do not know or do not acknowledge the fact that their parents probably do actually care. I think the relationships between teenagers and parents would only change for the worse if teenagers decided to lie more.
Kids are dishonest to their parents because they feel if their truthful they might be in more trouble.i think that most teens would trade punishment for being transparent to their parents. they would do so because they could do whatever they want all the time. If you were a kid would you want your parents to know about everything you do

ReplyDeleteI think the majority of teens can't be truthful with their parents all the time, because they are afraid of their parents disciplining them, or they are afraid of their parents being dissapointed in them. I think most teens are just being over dramatic, and think their parents don't care on how they feel. Everyones parents care on how you feel, they just think that they should pick the best choices for their child, which isn't always fun, because face it, teenagers are wanting to have fun and be edgy. I don't know if teens would feel embarrassed to tell their parents all of the things that they have done. From my experience I tell my mom everything I do, because if in the long run something happened, I would rather just tell her, than have to tell her after something bad happened. Honestly, teens would get along better with their parents if they could just tell them the truth, because at least their parents know what they are doing at all times. Over all, teens lie to their parents because they know that their parents wouldn't be okay with half the things that they do, and they want to do them, so they just lie to their parents to not get in trouble.

ReplyDeleteTeens are usually dishonest to their parents not only because they fear loss of freedom, but they also fear loss of more respect from their parents. A loss of respect creates a sense of disappoint in the child, making it feel less appreciated.

ReplyDeleteThe reason that most teens can't be truthful with their parents because they think that if they make an excuse then they can do what they want. But if you are truthful your parent would be way chill. But kids do think that they will lose freedom or get punished. Some situations that kids would lie is if they don't want to go home and they want to hang out the would just say that they are staying after school to do some homework. THat is why kids lie to their parents.
the teen and parent relationship would get worse with more lies but not good if it had a hundred percent truth. computer1 period 4

ReplyDeleteI think teens are afraid to tell the truth because there's always a consiquence to being honest. If you tell the truth your going to get in trouble it's just the way it works. In fact I know a lot of parents who would rather just turn a blind eye or prefer that their teen would lie to them. Then they dont have to punish them and they can pretend everything is dandy. So really the parents are also afraid of the truth, in my experience, that's why teens don't tell the truth.

ReplyDeleteTeens lie to their parents for several reasons, one of the reasons are so they wont get in trouble. No teen wants to get in trouble, getting in trouble isn't the best feeling. Another reason is to lie for their friends. Most people don't want their friends to get in trouble and that's just what friends do for each other. If your parents don't like your friend then you normally wont be able to hang out with them anymore, so people lie to their parents to stay friends with thei friends. Teens lie for many other reasons also, but that is just a few that are big and happen daily.

ReplyDeleteI think the majority of teens lie to there parents is because they are ether scared of there parents or because they are scared of what there parents would think of them if they found out. The reason why I say that most teens might be afraid of there parents is because they don't want to get punished for what they have done. The reason why I said teens would be be afraid of what there parents would think is because what teen wants to no that there parent dose not care about them? I do believe that most teens think adults don't respect the way they feel. these are some of my thoughts about why teens lie to there parents.

ReplyDeleteThis is why I believe that teens lie to their parents. I believe that most teens lie to thier parents because they think that they will be able to get away with their lie. Also some teens think they might need parents approval to do something that they could lie about. Lastly some teens don't want to deal with the consequences. Those are some of the reasons why teens lie to thier parents.
